Native American Health Center Hosts Oakland’s New Mayor at Their Red Market

Native American Health Center (NAHC) recently hosted their 20th Indigenous Red Market. NAHC honored Oakland’s new Mayor, Sheng Thao for her unwavering support of the community and NAHC’s vital work.

Earlier this month, Mayor Thao also participated in the Resilient Fruitvale Roundtable discussion held at NAHC, where she engaged in crucial conversations about the challenges faced by the community and explored collaborative solutions.

The Indigenous Red Market event was a resounding success, featuring performances by Sten Joddi, Signal 99, the Ute Bear Dancers, local Powwow and Aztec Dancers, and All Nations Drum Group. The event also showcased local Indigenous vendors.
