Land Blessing: NAHC staff with representatives from the Confederated Villages of Lisjan Nation

We’re thrilled to announce that Native American Health Center (NAHC) is set to break ground this February on an exciting new building in Oakland’s Fruitvale Neighborhood. The new, state-of-the-art five-story facility at 3050 International Boulevard is expected to open in December 2025 and will allow NAHC to expand services and ensure everyone in their community has access to the care they need.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • An expanded dental clinic offering high-quality and culturally responsive dental care.
  • A large Cultural Community Center, with the capacity to welcome up to 300 people for ceremonies, health workshops, and community gatherings.
  • 76 affordable housing units, developed in collaboration with Satellite Affordable Housing Associates (SAHA), addressing the critical need for affordable housing in our communities.

This past month, NAHC held a special Blessing of the Land Ceremony with the Confederated Villages of Lisjan Nation. NAHC was deeply honored to receive the support of the Lisjan Nation—the original stewards of the land where NAHC’s Oakland campus stands. The land blessing was a momentous step toward this new beginning for NAHC.

For NAHC, this new building is not just a structure; it’s a symbol of hope and health for their community.
