DESCRIPTION:Hepatitis B: Update on Epidemiology\, Screening\, Treatment and Prevention\nSpeaker: Rachel Baden\, MD; Chair\, Department of Medicine\, Highland Hospital\nThis session will provide a comprehensive update on the epidemiology\, screening and treatment guidelines for the prevention and management of Hepatitis B. Participants will gain a healthy respect for the long term consequences of HBV as well as the risk factors for reactivation. We will discuss who should be referred for treatment and how to effectively screen for hepatocellular carcinoma in this patient population. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Explain who to screen and the screening process for Hepatitis B\n2. Describe new insights into the management of chronic infection with Hepatitis B\n3. Develop a healthy respect for Hepatitis B reactivation \nHepatitis C: Screening and Linkage to Care\nSpeaker: Robert Wong\, MD\, Director of Research and Education\, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology\, Highland Hospital\nThis presentation will highlight the current national screening recommendations for the diagnosis and management of chronic HCV infection. We will identify high risk groups that would benefit from HCV screening. We will review the evidence regarding current rates of successful linkage of care and identify barriers to achieving successful linkage of care. We will review the diagnostic evaluation and management of chronic HCV\, including a brief overview of the treatment approach and treatment options available. \nLearning Objectives:\n1. Describe the epidemiology and natural history of chronic hepatitis C\n2. Learn the appropriate treatment algorithms and diagnostic workup of these conditions\n3. DESCRIPTION:What is the impact of community trauma on patients and professionals in clinical care services? How might an understanding of trauma inform patient care and how we care for ourselves? \nJoin us for a speaker series for our community health center providers\, staff and leadership. This series will offer an overview of the current state of knowledge about community trauma\, types of trauma\, and the trauma-informed movement as it relates to health and health center professionals. \nCHCN/AHC health centers are consistently faced with high numbers of patients with trauma\, depression\, anxiety\, and substance abuse disorders. The series will begin by naming the ways trauma surfaces in our community health centers among patients\, staff and providers.
